When the report was issued, it was met with some skepticism and disbelief -- even by the Pentagon official who commissioned the study.

Among the dire consequences sketched out were surging seas breaking down levees in the Netherlands in 2007, making the Hague "unlivable," and Europe's climate becoming "more like Siberia's" by 2020. They saw possible "mega-droughts" in southern China and northern Europe.

"It was well done," Cicerone said of the report. "I didn't think it was fictional."

I posted something about this over a year ago. The Pentagon is considering how global warming will cause an energy/securing crisis.

Bush said earlier this month he recognizes that human activity contributes to a warmer Earth. But he continues to reject the Kyoto treaty on global warming that all other G-8 industrialized nations signed, because developing nations weren't included in it.

His administration has argued strongly against mandatory climate-related emissions caps, contending that its voluntary program is countering the growth of those emissions, but not actually reducing the tons annually being released into the atmosphere.

That is retarded. Rejection of the Kyoto policy has more to do with domestic car sales than "developing countries." Can you imagine the amount of U.S vehicle manufacturer/oil companies lobbying and all related $$ that must occur in Washington? If we signed the kyoto treaty, OIL companies and all U.S vehicle manufacturers would have to seriously re-think their business strategies. I am sure that American car companies are researching alternative power, however, I have only seen Japanese/foreign cars with alternative power already in use.

This is a great example of a law protecting parents from parenting their children.

Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich said. “But I don't believe that my 8-year-old daughter has a constitutional right to cut someone's head off in a game that she plays."

Don't let her play the game. That's just one idea I had.

"..says many parents are ignorant about these games.

"Parents oftentimes don't realize the games have ratings. And they don't know what the ratings mean," she said."

Parents need to be aware of everything their children are doing. I could be wrong but I believe that is part of being a parent.

The scary thing is that these are "educated" people trying to pass this law. I bet these same people are/were too busy to parent their children.

CNN.com - Source:Special ops member rescued in Afghanistan - Jul 3, 2005: "Among those killed in the chopper crash were eight Navy SEALs assigned to units in Norfolk, Virginia, and San Diego, California; seven soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, based at Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia; and one soldier from the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment at Fort Campbell, Kentucky."

I am excited to here this team member was rescued. I can only hope the other two soldiers are still evading the enemy.

It's incredibly unfortunate when a large number of soldiers are killed simultaneously. Especially unfortunate that so many members of the small 160th aviation group were killed. That could be the single largest number of 160th members killed in a single incident, ever.

I don't even know what to say. I thought we lived in America? If this isn't an abuse of government power, I don't know what is. This is an outrage, American citizens should band together and fight this.

What's next? The government will be able to take our vehicles, our kids, our jobs, our right to bare arms, and many other freedoms we currently enjoy.

What is American?

If you were to ask any random "american citizen" where this quote comes from, do you think they would know?

"all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. --That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed"

What is this crap about America being founded on a covenant with God?

I do believe America was founded by former British citizens because "..when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

If you were not already aware, these quotes are from the Declaration of Independence.

So what is an American? An American is fiercly independent, yet loyal to his cause and country. His country being the United States of America. Americans want peace, but know when to go to war. Americans are generous and open hearted, but know that sometimes we must be shrewd and cunning, cold and selfish. Americans are inherently compassionate and caring. We were once called "the sleeping giant" by our most stout and fiercest foe during the beginning hours of WWII. It is intrinsic with our nature to give the benefit of the doubt.

What has happened to the 13 original colonies? If John Hancock, Sam Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and the rest of the original signers of the DOI were alive today, what would they think? I think they would wonder not what happened to their government, but what happened to their people? What has happened to our people?

America was founded by immigrants. America was proliferated by immigrants. Immigrants teaching immigrants how to be American. Americans teaching immigrants how to be Americans. No longer do we teach each other what it means to be AMERICAN. American culture, American beliefs, and more importantly Americans, are fast becoming extinct. The soul of the U.S of A is becoming hollow and empty. Replaced with selfishness, greed, corruption, and people who could not care less about being American.

Education on the lowest level HAS FAILED. Parents no longer infuse America or responsibility into their children. Teenagers and adults alike do not want to take responsibility for their action. American history is falls on deaf ears. Illegal immigrants overrun our borders by the millions, destroying the local supporting economy, remaining Americans helpless to stop them. Lobbyists throw money at the governement, the government no longer makes decisions based on the decent, honest, good of the people, but rather how much money they can leech off giant corporations. Freedom is no longer embraced as a dream by citizens. The ideology of American youth appears to be to make money, and make it fast. Freedom is scorned by the rest of the world and the transients of America feel guilty for the freedoms they never earned. "Please! Control my life!" the people cry out to the government.

Cash really has corrupted our government, and worse, our people. The majority cries out against the government while simultaneously begging the government to control them. Like children rebelling against parents secretly wishing to be noticed and coddled.

The free press claims that good journalism is at risk because the youth of America don't care about the news. Journalism would survive if only journalists would report the truth, and not hyped up rediculous stories about Michael Jackson. The industry claims they cannot appeal to the future generations of America, and that older generations are no longer reading or watching news. They cannot survive without the revenue generated from both audiences. I say FREE press will always survive so long as journalists want to report truth, all truths both GOOD and bad. Journalism has turned into media. Media has turned into a maniacal beast desperately searching for the next horrific tragedy with which to grab headlines.

Someone recently told me to talk about solutions. I have solutions, but I am convinced they cannot be heard.

I believe in popular education, and formal education. I truly believe that education is the key to American future. Parents must impress upon their children true American beliefs (ie: ALL men/women are created equal, truly), That freedom is a gift not to be taken for granted. That with freedom comes responsibility. Education starts when a child is born and continues until that child dies from old age. Schools need to concentrate less on banning "offensive" tshirts and focus more on critical material such as TRUE American history. Not the politically correct bullsh|t that is being spooned out like pig fodder. Education needs to encompass world history as well. Our children must learn from the successes and mistakes of others, as well as ourselves. Schools should a haven of free speech (of all kinds). Parents must work closely with the schools in order to let their kids face responsibilities for the actions, good and bad.


Additionally, something must be done about our pourous borders. Immigration is a wonderful thing. Illegal immigration is one of the best ways to destroy an economy, and eventually, a country. Illegal immigrants are not educated, they are not interested in American ideals, and they are most certainly not interested in the good of the American people or the greater good of the country. This is a constantly proven REALITY in Souther California, and increasingly in the surrounding western states. Known illegal immigrants must be deported at first recognition. We should employ a zero tolerance tactic and possiblity embargo the offending countrys' government.

America needs change now. If we do not begin now, it will be too late.

haha! I am going on my first training flight tomorrow. It's not my first flight... no, my first flights we all "MTFs." Those are Maintenance Test Flights. TEST flights. Sometimes, if I was lucky, I would get to enjoy the sound of (or lack of sound) the engines shutting down and the blades auto-rotating. Then the bird drops like a rock from 5000 to 4000ft and we turn the engines back on. Fun!

Anyway, tomorrow is really a pre-training training flight. I am very excited.
