CNN.com - Source:Special ops member rescued in Afghanistan - Jul 3, 2005: "Among those killed in the chopper crash were eight Navy SEALs assigned to units in Norfolk, Virginia, and San Diego, California; seven soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, based at Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia; and one soldier from the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment at Fort Campbell, Kentucky."
I am excited to here this team member was rescued. I can only hope the other two soldiers are still evading the enemy.
It's incredibly unfortunate when a large number of soldiers are killed simultaneously. Especially unfortunate that so many members of the small 160th aviation group were killed. That could be the single largest number of 160th members killed in a single incident, ever.
