I think that statement is just a tiny bit hypocritical. Soldiers die every day to save other people's lives. So do policement, firefighters, and a host of other types of rescue workers. Most of them are paid by taxpayer's money.
Stem cell research is so important to humanity. We can't afford not to continue this type of research.
