"Illegal Alien" equal to "Nigger" ?
That's what this Georgia group would try to make you believe. I was trying not to get too political on my blog for the next few months. I would like to focus on Basic Training and weeks leading up to it, but articles like this just boggle my mind and I have to post them up here.. we need to be aware that crap like this goes on...
Each year, nearly 1 million foreigners unlawfully sneak into the United States.
But don’t call them "illegal aliens" because that's the moral equivalent of a racial slur, according to the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials (search).
"We do find that term very offensive and liken it to the 'n' word as well," GALEO Executive Director Kerry Gonzalez said, referring to the derogatory term used to describe black people.
Who is we, exactly? I wonder if this guy is aware that black people are going to be pretty annoyed that he considers "illegal" to be similar to "nigger". As if there is any merit to that. We won't even go into historical facts.
Gonzalez is urging Georgia lawmakers to use the term "undocumented workers" when referring to foreigners who enter the United States.
Now, how is undocumented workers even remotely close to "Illegal" ? They have no similarity and there is no comparison. STFU noob.
But immigration control advocates say it's just an attempt to use political correctness for political gain. While racial epithets are used to harm the innocent, the word "illegal" describes those who break the law.
Thank god someone has a head on their shoulders. Maybe we should just drag Gonzalez away and lock him in prison. Since He is trying to steal our freedoms from us, lets steal his.
"When we have public discourse we have to talk about illegal aliens. After all, U.S. law refers to all of these people sneaking into our country as illegal aliens," said Phil Kent of the American Immigration Control Foundation (search).
Agreed.
